I'm having the same problem. I tried adding the content_width line to the theme I use (k2) but it didn't appear to work.

Also, the resizing seems a little bit 'weird' it doesn't just make the image smaller it also seems to add padding to the right and/or bottom of the new image. This means if you use somthing like lightbox to display a full size version of the image it's aligned to the top left corner with loads of whitespace.

Hello Paul, Thank you for the answer. Too bad they didn't keep that part the same in the final release. I think it does remember the last setting that I used when uploading an image, but it would be nice to be able to change it from that Media Settings page, as in your screenshot.
Thanks

Hi BeatlesLane,

That screenshot in my post is from the 2.7 Beta, so it looks like they've changed the settings slightly in the final release.

However, it looks like the default settings are a URL of "none" and alignment of "none". The default image size also seems to be set to "large", *unless* your image is larger than the max dimensions you set for "large" images in your Media options.

I hope that makes sense, if not please come back soon or subscribe to my RSS feed so you're automatically notified when I write an updated post on the topic.

Thanks for visiting!

Hi. I have upgraded a WP blog to 2.7, but my Media Settings don't look like yours. I'm missing the "Default Media Links", "Default Image Size" and "Default Image Alignment" options. Do you know how I can get those options too, or what the reason is that I don't have them?
Thank you!
