One of the bonus resources I offer to subscribers is my Blog Maintenance Guide. The responses to that guide that I have received were initially surprising – I hadn’t expected so many people to tell me they did little if any maintenance on their blogs before reading the guide.
In hindsight it shouldn’t have been a surprise. My own maintenance plan used to be “do what you can, when you can, as you think of it” which I eventually found to be totally inefficient and left a lot of important tasks undone.

I do bits and pieces as I can. But usually on Thursday/ Fridays when I am actually blogging.
Sounds like my old method :-)
From the poll I see that I am not the only one who does not have a set day to do blog maintenance. I tend to do it during the early hours of the morning when traffic is low.
Thats certainly a factor, I try to schedule my backups for the lowest traffic times of day, but with a global audience that isn’t easy.
