Are you using the same password for all of your different blogs, email accounts, and social networks? Would you like to have a more secure password but find it too hard to remember lots of different, complex passwords?
In this short video I demonstrate how I use Keepass Password Safe to safely store all of my different passwords without having to remember them all. All I need to remember is the master password to the password safe.

Paul,
I’m so glad that you did this video. KeePass is something that has been on my to-do list for a long time and thought it was too complicated. With your video, you broke it down into manageable steps for me.
Btw, your voice totally does not match your Avatar. I was surprised by how soft-spoken you are in the video :-)
Thanks,
Karen
Actually I was recording it late one night while my kids were asleep in the next room so I was trying to keep my voice down. Maybe that made it a bit quieter than normal, but I bet not by much!
RoboForm is another good one for Windows. On a Mac I use 1Password. I’ve never used Keypass. It is amazing how many people use easily guessed passwords. A password keeper is, for me, a necessary item, and has been for sometime.
Good post – good info.
I’ve had a few people mention Roboform to me now. I’ve never checked it out but with so many recommendations now I will have to take a look.
Great video. It relates to one of my post where you can basically create your own custom password algorithm if you have more than once laptop ordesktop and forget to sync your password tool to both machines. It’s a great way to remember difficult passwords with some of my passwords. Keepass is great though, worth checking out.
I guess that I am still in the stone ages I keep all of my usernames and passwords on index cards. I will have to look into this Keepass system so I don’t have to pull out my notecards all the time.
That’s a good tip!
