What is a Social Interview?

The Social Interview is a community Q&A session and runs like this:

  • Stage 1: collect questions from the community and create a list of the best and most interesting ones.
  • Stage 2: publish the questions in a blog post and let the community submit their answers via comments, the contact form, and Twitter (whichever they prefer).
  • Stage 3: publish the best and most interesting answers to the questions in a blog post for everyone to read and enjoy.

We should see some really interesting questions and answers come out of such a diverse online community!

Submit your questions and get the chance to win a great prize

You can join in simply by submitting a question on the topics of:

  • Blogging/writing
  • WordPress
  • Social media/networking
  • Twitter/microblogging
  • Online marketing/promotion

or anything else web-related.

You can submit questions by:

Every question submitted goes into the prize draw.

If you don’t have a question you can still go into the draw just by writing a blog post about the Social Interview and linking to this post.

The deadline for stage 1 is 8pm Sunday 25th January AEST (GMT+10:00).

What can you win by joining in?

Glenn Murray from Divine Write has kindly donated a copy of his SEO Secrets ebook as the prize for one lucky winner of this stage of the social interview.  SEO Secrets is the do-it-yourself guide to topping Google and is where Glenn shares the tips and techniques that got him ranking #1 on Google.

Stage 2 will include more great prizes that you can win just by joining in on the Social Interview.

Here are just a few of the great questions I got in on Twitter today:

@Schebesta Which industries does twitter work best and worst for and why?

@iamwritebrained will Twitter overtake standard texting?

@funkygorilla via @clarelancaster What do you see as the benefits of Facebook connect and Google Friend Connect to the installing site?

Keep them coming!

Hi!

My questions:
How do you maximize your effectiveness on Twitter? Do you focus on particular times of day, or tweet throughout your day?
How much time do you spend gathering information to tweet and what methodology is your preference?

Do you even bother trying to address controversies or misperceptions when they come up on Twitter?

Also, I second Julie Hood’s (#3′s) questions!

Just curious if you have extended the deadline. @chrisbrogan referred me to the site – and I’d be interested in blogging about this.

thanks!
