This post is part of the Problogger group writing project to create your own “bloggers to watch” list.
The most popular and widely used blogging platform on the internet is WordPress. But for all of the bloggers that use WordPress a very large percentage of them barely understand the inner workings of it.
Also WordPress is a very fast moving ecosystem, with 2-3 new versions released each year plus several more minor updates and security fixes, thousands of plugins and themes that can turn a WordPress site into just about any type of website the owner wishes.
In this post I’ve compiled a list of the top bloggers in the community that I think all WordPress users should keep an eye on this year. They range from community news curators, to creators of beginner tutorials and tips, all the way up to advanced programmers and coders.
Jeff Chandler
Jeff runs WordPress Tavern, the biggest independent community of WordPress users on the web today. Jeff does an outstanding job of uncovering and filtering the latest news from the WordPress community and keeps us up to date with developments via his blog and his WordPress Weekly podcast.
WordPress Tavern has a thriving forums community of WordPress users, and if you’ve got a great WordPress tip or story to share he accepts guest posts too.

Syed has been doing great with WPBeginner.com. I remember when he disappeared from his blog only to emerge this with new blog already being massively popular.
Thanks for adding WPBeginner in the list :)
I don’t know if I can’t count but no matter how I count – by twitter names or blog urls, I count less than 10. Is something amiss?
Artem, the WP Engineers team is 3 guys but only 1 Twitter acount, that might be where you’re count is being thrown out.
Thank you for compiling this list, I have only heard of a couple of these so I will give the other ones a shot!
While I enjoyed your list of WordPress Bloggers to follow, I wish you had added at least one blogger who wrote a “fun” blog. I miss reading blogs that are simply entertaining. Many of the 2010 lists that I’ve read tonight mainly list programmers, web designs, and assorted tipsters. Let me offer up a WordPress Blog that has two and a half million hits, my own -The Girl from the Ghetto. And yes, you may give me crap for tooting my own horn.
This list was intended to be “bloggers who blog about WordPress” not “bloggers who use WordPress to run their blog”.
Congratulations on your blog’s success. Thanks for taking the time to comment here.
This is an excellent list, I recently began a second blog and have been very interested in successful bloggers. I’m also new to WordPress so the value of this list goes up as I explore more of the sites listed. Thanks for the info.
